Mapping Actions for Las Reinas Pepiadas

Cartographies of Care and Trauma is a data-driven mapping project developed in collaboration with Las Reinas Pepiadas as part of the MEATS program at Elisava. Drawing from hundreds of anonymous testimonies shared by Venezuelan migrant women, the project translates qualitative data into a visual system that reveals patterns of risk, trauma, and vulnerability along migration routes across Latin America.

By combining large-scale data analysis with individual narratives, the mapping preserves each woman's lived experience while uncovering broader geopolitical patterns. Designed as both an analytical and advocacy tool, the project supports the Reinas Migrantes initiative in communicating migration realities, identifying critical territories, and informing future interventions through ethical, human-centered information design.
